Thanks to a research that lasted more than a year, within our ECO IN project, financed by the ERASMUS + program and coordinated by Prof. Annalisa Morganti from the FISSUF Department of the University of Perugia, we have been able to prepare a document of Strategic recommendations, very useful for political decision makers to promote concrete interventions in favor of inclusion in schools. This document is extremely useful for schools, education professionals and policy makersBased on the needs identified in the partner countries of the ECO IN project, and after research at the European level, we have developed an innovative and digital evaluation protocol aimed at evaluating and monitoring successful inclusion practices.

We have elaborated a Manifesto of values and principles that should inspire and guide all the key actors of the extended educational community, policy recommendations were developed to promote inclusion and for the training of all the actors in the education sector.

The following Manifesto is based on the results and reports of the ECO-IN project developed by FORMA.Azione, the Lithuanian Education Union, MIRADA LOCAL (Spain), the Alba Iulia County Education Inspectorate (Romania), the SOLIDAR Foundation, the University of Perugia – FISSUF Department and the University of Urbino, as well as on the basis of the contributions provided to the High Level Conference on Policy Recommendations for School Inclusion by representatives of the following organisations: Workers Group of the ETUC – Social Economic Committee, ETUCE – European Committee of Education Unions, European Commission (DG EAC), LLLP, OBESSU and S&D group.

Indeed, the Manifesto aims to identify and indicate, at European level, values and principles, but above all actions and work tools on which to build and consolidate alliances over time between the various subjects interested in promoting school inclusion according to an “ecological” approach. Most European school systems develop forms of collaboration with local authorities, families, associations, civil society, expert professionals in education and inclusion, etc. who can often have different expectations and needs. The school system is committed to being a point of connection, dialogue, meeting and synthesis to value all these diversities.
